I've noticed a lot of mommies out there in the blogosphere have picked up a ritual (if you will) of blogging about thankfulness on Thursdays. That is an amazing idea, because it's important to look into your life and pick out the things you are most thankful for. It's also helpful for me (and other moms with psychological issues), because it removes most of the homicidal urges from our daily lives. So, instead of making my weekly Hit List* from now on I'm blogging thankfulness every Thursday. Kudos to whomever thought this up. Brilliant.
Where to begin?
((Cue : Mushy)) Lights dim on stage and sad music begins to play.
As a mother I'm thankful for so much in my life, and one of the big ones right now is this blog. About a month ago I logged on to the momosphere, and I found so many amazing women. Women who don't care to laugh at themselves (or their husbands). Women who are funny, smart, and savvy. I was truly amazed by all of the bloggers I found out there, and was inspired to create my own blog. The main reason for creating this blog was so that instead of living my (depressing and alcohol fueled) life with my personal negative outlook I could get on here and type it out for enjoyment purposes. I could mold it and write it and use words and feelings to make it funny and entertaining (to me at least), which makes life a bit more enjoyable. Also, I can sit here and voice my opinions while wearing my PJ's (or nothing - whichever I feel like that morning) and sipping on a glass of strawberry milk, and you will never know. Also, nobody can interrupt me, which is always a plus.
Oh, and before I forget - there are other things I'm thankful for, too. I'm thankful for my sometimes-hateful and fussy four year old spoiled boy. I'm thankful for his health and his happiness. I'm thankful for cheese danish, and also that my mom usually only gets "falling down drunk" on weekends. I'm thankful for the people in my life, most of the time, and all of that stuff. I'm also thankful for my bitchy friends who manage to call me every once and awhile and tell me how much fun they've been having without me. I'm thankful for Steven King whose book I'm beginning today. Cell. No, I don't read much Steven King, but I'm bored today. Let's see. . . I'm thankful that my fat arse can still fit in my jeans - even if I have to lie down to button them, and I'm thankful that my son's papaw bought him that scooter for Christmas, because I'm having way too much fun zooming through my neighbor's driveway when they're not home. Also, I'm extremely thankful for the brilliant (read: possibly drunk) editor at Blogged.com that rated my blog as 7.0. I was honestly expecting a 2 or 3. Feel free to go raise my rating.
Truthfully, there is so much that I should be thankful for every single day, but most days I don't take the time to notice it all. That really could explain why I'm an all around bitch
sometimes all the time, but I'd rather blame that more on the fact that people just suck.
I now have the photos for my giveaway, and will post it in the morning. If anyone wants to make me a simple banner for my giveaway so I can have people link to it - I would really appreciate. Nothing fancy. Just "Mom's Atomic Giveaway" hosted by Atomic Mom or something of the sort. Whoever does will get extra entries!
*No, I don't really make a hit list every week. Only every couple of weeks, because I like to get enough names on there to actually make a day out of it.
